As we all now architecture is the art of designing spaces for human use, such as housing, work, education, recreation, etc. On the other hand, Urban Planning is the art of designing and planning all the different areas that conform a city, town or village.
These two careers are pretty similar and different at the same time. One of the main differences is the scale, being that architecture usually designs spaces for a small group of people, instead urban planning designs spaces that are going to be used by a wide range of persons.
Also architecture serves to differents purposes like providing shelter, spaces for several activities, to indentify a culture, to protect from natural forces, etc.
In Caracas we can find buildings which are pretty good designed, but they don’t necessary fit with their context, that’s why urbanistically Caracas is so badly designed. Therefore, the city has problems like insecurity, traffic, pollution, etc.
